How is our current infrastructure in North America affecting businesses that are trying to stimulate our economy? Our infrastructure directly relates to the bottom line because it dictates how fast or slow goods move from state to state, province to province or even country to country. We also talk about the ultimate price the shippers are paying for this, what the solution might be and what the future looks like for our intermodal transportation network. CIFFA is also making sure their voices are heard with government and advocating for the forwarders and shippers - Find out more in this amazing episode! Enjoy!

Welcome back Lets Talk listeners!

Finding the right customs broker is like hiring anyone else to work for your company: you need to ask the right questions including how they minimize risk for you and your organization. You may not realize it but the process and how you work with your customs broker can determine the level of risk you are exposed to.

In this episode, Graham Robins from Border Buddy is back and we go through the risks that you are susceptible to and for most of you these are risks that you don't even see coming. The changes in the industry have really changed the role of how your customs broker works for clients and how they work with the government which could mean the difference in costing you time and money. There are also things to consider that you could do internally to take control of the risks.

Welcome back Lets Talk listeners!

I don't know about you but I am hearing more and more about Block Chain but still a little fuzzy about the hype and the details of how it can help business and/or supply chain. I will be interviewing a few experts about Block Chain over the next few months so that we all can get a better handle on this technology and how we can use to help with efficiencies.

I thought we would start the block chain discussions in one of the most talked about and complex supply chains so we can understand how can be used as a solution. In this episode, Mike Cohen from Greenstream takes through the block chain model they are creating for the Cannabis supply chain and how it could be the solution to the regulatory oversights we are concerned with the legalization date looming.

With the introduction of technology every industry and even sub industries are being looked at with fresh eyes, new algorithms and new efficient ways of doing business. The clearance of your products has been drowning in the traditional way of doing things and is ripe for disruption as human error is becoming more and more costly.

Are you frustrated in dealing with a traditional broker? Do you ever wonder why brokers are still using original documents, fax machines and spreadsheets? You are not alone and it really is time for things to change. Border Buddy saw this need and went into action right away, they are constantly developing new ways of helping not only business but people clear goods into North America. Need a customs tool for your website so your buyer knows all charges they face up front? My bet is that your sales will increase and you have peace of mind that your costs are covered.

What about the pesky HS/HTS codes that haunt you? Get them wrong and it can be costly to your business, Border Buddy has the answer to that by creating a database where you can easily search the commodity and provides recommendations. This is the first of many episodes with Graham, the founder of Border Buddy as we talk more about disruption, supply chain in general and how technology is changing the game.
