Today I’m super excited to be joined by Knichel Logistics, a woman owned and operated intermodal marketing company specializing in intermodal, LTL, FTL, and specialty services.

Knichel Logistics is on a mission to be the best third party logistics provider in the industry. Since its inception, its earned a reputation in the transportation industry as a reliable and valuable provider with a dedicated, experienced staff. And the team strive to build and maintain lasting relationships with their carriers so that, with their help, they can provide their customers with the smoothest transportation experience possible.

Today Kristy Knichel, Owner and President at Knichel Logistics, joins me to chat all about her company, what they do, their unique family-oriented approach and the numerous benefits of working with a certified woman-owned and operated business.

IN THIS EPISODE WE DISCUSS:

[06.37] Kristy talks about her journey in logistics, working her way up in the family business.

“Even if you don’t have a college degree, you can still be successful if you put the time and effort in, work hard and learn.”

[10.45] Kristy reflects on taking over from her Father, and the changes she implemented to make Knichel Logistics the business it is today.

“My number one goal was changing the culture and making it a place where people wanted to come to work – even though it’s a challenging environment!”

[20.01] The benefits of engaging in strategic partnerships and the power of collaboration.

“In the past you would never talk to a competitor. Now, it’s: who can I talk to, how can I help you, how can you help me? And that has been one of the most exciting things for me: it truly does work, and it’s beneficial.”

[24.00] The challenges thrown up by COVID, and the changes the industry will continue to make.

“There’s a lot of companies out there that are going to have to change the way they do business… But as challenging as it’s been, it’s opened up a lot of opportunities.”
